The AIM Programme
AIM helps families with low incomes to achieve full and fair access to grammar schools in Kent.
What does each AIM Kent child receive?
AIM's comprehensive 11+ preparation programme has been created and is delivered by professional tutors at The Right Tuition Company, who have manu years experience successfully preparing children for the Kent Test. Our programme includes
- term time weekly tuition delivered by professional tutors
- Weekly, three hour, school holiday workshops.
- Two mock exams
- 1:1 feedback meetings with their tutor
- Enrichment activities (aka Fun!)
When should I apply?
We select children for our AIM Kent programmes in the November of their Year 5at primary school. Please contact us when they start Year 5, in September or October, to see if we can help you.
Our 2026 Programme has already started, but it's not too late! We can still consider applications from children in Year 5 who are due to take the 11+ in September 2026.
Our catchment area is West Kent, and we welcome children from Tunbridge Wells, Tonbridge, Sevenoaks and surrounding areas.
What is a low income?
If your household income is less than £30,000, and/or your child is on Pupil Premium or Free School Meals then they could be eligible for a place at AIM. Please don't hesitate to contact us, even if your circumstances are slightly different, we are happy to discuss your situation. Any information that you discuss with us is held in strictest confidence.
How do Grammar Schools support children from low income families?
Kent Grammar Schools can offer support to pupils regarding uniform costs, extra tuition and bursaries for school trips and IT equipment.
This is tailored to the pupils' needs when they join Year 7.
If you would like to chat with us about your child's suitability for the AIM programme in Tonbridge, Tunbridge Wells or Sevenoaks please get in touch via hello@aimkent.org.uk.
